Niterider Pro 700 Kit, w/ spare battery - $400

Barely used Niterider Pro700 Kit with a spare battery.

The original kit came with the lightweight 4 cell battery, and then I purchased an extra 6 cell.

700 Lumens for just under 3 hours with the 4 cell, and just under 6 hours with the 6 cell.

This is the programmable system from Niterider, allowing you to custom design up to 8output settings to "fine tune" light output and burn time.

I bought this system to use in Moab around a month ago. Since then I haven't had much use for it, and find myself just cycling the batteries to make sure they continue to hold a charge.

$425 paypalled/shipped or $400 cash in person. I'm not on the internet a lot so texting me is the best way to get in touch 717-658-9445.

Magicshine Battery recall - spontaneous combustion

To Our Valued Geomangear Customers,

Geomangear temporarily has stopped selling Magicshine lightsets due to our concerns regarding the safety, quality, and performance of Magicshine's lithium-ion battery packs sold by Geomangear between July 2009 and November 2010. We have determined that these Magicshine battery packs do not meet Geomangear's high expectations regarding product safety, quality, and performance. We have notified both the manufacturer of Magicshine lightsets and the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission that Geomangear intends to voluntarily recall all Magicshine battery packs sold by Geomangear.

We are actively working with the Safety Commission, outside engineering consultants, and a new battery pack supplier to evaluate product recall options for our customers. Geomangear will provide recall information and instructions directly to our affected customers after our final corrective action plan has been approved by the Safety Commission.

If you bought a Magicshine lightset from us between June 2009 and November 2010, please discontinue using your lightset until we are able to provide you with an upgraded replacement battery pack. Despite our best efforts, this process will take some time, and we ask for your patience. You can rest assured that Geomangear has taken, and will continue to take, appropriate steps to protect the safety of our customers, and we will stand behind our products. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and appreciate your continued loyalty and support during this unprecedented situation our company is facing.

* Do not run the battery pack all the way down to zero charge
* Do not store the battery pack with less than 70% charge.
* Do not leave the battery pack charging unattended.
* Store the battery pack in something metal, not in a bag or closet or somewhere that other materials will catch fire if the pack undergoes combustion.

Raystown Recap

Here's a group pic from Sunday at Raystown with the Central PA XPLOR Adventurs meetup.com group - Osvaldo, Scott (Prophet), Stacey, Jess, Chuck (Bucsexy), Brian (SlowRide), Lindsay and Mike (Red Fisher). Kimsan is taking the pic.

The weather was perfect and so were the trails. They actually use leaf blowers to keep the trails clean! We need to sent those people to Mackey Run. I'm not sure what trails we did but they had a lot of little rollers. ;-) Although the trails are smooth and rock-free somehow two of our MBMers managed to flat. Jess and Lindsay want to try Michaux so I might put together one of my famous beginner Michaux rides on Saturday...

Hats Off To Ya'.

Give your boy's Ho' and Slow a big pat on the back for occupying two hotly contested positions on the Top Secret Michauxslovakian Beer Run Podiums. Ho' took one step up from the last event for a second place finish down the Rattlesnake Run. Meanwhile, after a very tight race for the first two runs, Slow put a stranglehold,....a stranglehold I say, on the Ghey Overall DFL competition in the finale,...nobody was even remotely close.
Good fun, good people, and great hospitality!

Sunday ride at Raystown

This is part of a meetup.com group so you'll have to pay $1 to ride with the group. I don't exepct the overall pace to be too fast but it'll still be fun! A couple riders plan to do the easiest trails at an easy pace. If you haven't done the Raystown trails think Mackey Run...but without the rocks and logs. ;-) Post on here or email me if you're interested in going. Discover the world class Allegrippis mountain biking trails at Raystown Lake. There are trails here for all levels of mountain bikers and they are all labeled with their respective difficulties. We can meet in Carlilse, PA at the Home Depot located just off of Rt 81, on Rt 34, south of Carlisle, just look for the red car with bikes on top. Then we will drive up to Raystown for the day and check out the trails by bike. Bring lunch and snacks. On the way home we can grab a bite to eat along the way.

Ruth asked me to post a trail run for tonight at Caledonia starting at 4:30 or later. The jog will be 2-ish hours. Post a reply if you're interested. I'm sure she'll be checking the blog...

Commuter Parking in Portland, OR

This city has the country's highest rate of bicycle commuters. They are everywhere! They don't wear Spandex. They wear business suits!

By the way, they also have the largest number of breweries of any major metropolitan area on the planet (according to the brewer/guide on our peddle tour of Portland). The beer choices are beyond comprehension, but I did my best to sample the local wares.

The mountain biking isn't bad--endless conifer forests, dense and lush with miles of swooping, manicured trails. No rocks. They must have shipped all the rocks to Michaux.

Hope to see some rocks on Sunday.

I'm not going to make the ride again this Sunday so to be fair give some input where you want to ride. I have Mountain Safety training for the up coming ski season. Majority wins!
