Slowsky and I decided to do a ride today, Saturday, from the lot at the old Reservoir at the bottom of Milesburn. Ride time 3:30.
Bring your lights if you want to ride longer, or bail if you have no lights.
Be there . . . or don't be there.

Last minute jersey submission

 I did not have the time, resources, or cooperation to put together all of the ideas I was hoping to share with everyone before the deadline. Here's one that I think contains a mix of what most said they were looking for in a club jersey. Let us know what you think.  Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just taking time to say thank you for all the fun rides throughout the past year. I'm thankful that we have an awesome place to ride and we are so lucky that it is right in our backyard! I'm also thankful for my mechanic, best friend and husband, Brett--he keeps me rolling all the time!

Please be safe out there in the next few weeks or stick to night rides!

Looking forward, also, to a cool new jersey-thank you to everyone for all your efforts!

Thursday`s ride @ Mont Alto will be bumped back a half hour to 5:30pm to allow some folks to be there on time.

Jersey Graphic and Logo Files

Hey, everyone,

I've received club logo and sponsor logo files from Sue and from Morgan Styer. Mixed bag of stuff--.PDF, .AI, .JPG, etc. If anyone wants them to use, please let me know either here in a comment or via email.

The .AI formats are good for design work, if you have Adobe Illustrator or something similar.

Report Trail Work Hours

All of the trail work hours from the Wildcat reroute have been neatly logged and sent to me by Brett. (BTW thanks Brett)
Other than that, I know that my records are not up to date.
I am urging anyone who has pulled any additional hours of trail work to please list them under a comment below.
Be sure to include your name, approximate dates and trail names or at least the area in which the trails are located.

Ride Report 11-6

What a great turnout on a beautiful morning in Michaux.
We had 20 at the start from bigflat. After a mechanical-filled ride down new-wildcat and abby to the reservoir we ended up shedding a few. And yes, Mooch ended up submarining off breast after whacking his head on 'the' limb. Sue saw the whole thing -- totally jealous!
Climbed lollipop after picking up a newcomer (el pres), and descended camp and back up to the lot. 4 of us then continued and did 3mile and deerbingo and (after dennis blew past jakes) climbed 7, couldn't find happyhr, scared a dog, got yelled at, got flicked-off, rode creektrail, climbed bigflat atv.
Over 30 with more mechanicals than I care to recount.
Trails in good condition, with the exception of the middle of 7.

Trail Work a Must!!!

Unfortunately folks, it`s time to leave the bikes at home and break out the trail tools.
I`ve ridden the past two evenings and our trails are a mess.
I wouldn`t even be interested in riding from Mont Alto again until the trails are cleared. We spent as much time bushwacking and clearing debris as we did riding tonight.
I propose that we pull a trail work session next Thursday evening, 5pm at Mont Alto. CHAINSAWS will be necessary along with loppers n such.
Mont Alto alone is going to take several work days to clean up and this is just the begining. We have an entire forest full of trails to clear. So, grab your tools, headlamps and beverages and be there next Thursday!

Tuesday Night Ride from the Weiser's House

Tuesday night looks like the best night of the week. I would like to start riding at 5:30 and ride for about 2ish hours.

Apparently I am a nocturnal MBM rider as I can't ever seem to make it to rides during the day. Luckily I made it out Thursday night for my first night ride of the season.



Me and four other like-minded fellows took advantage of the decent temps and the break in the rain to get in a good-natured and fun ride.

Keefer's Ride on Sunday

Anybody interested in joining me for this ride Sunday?

MBM Represents at Iron Cross!

MBM ran the best checkpoint at Iron Cross again this year. David Kegley, Dave Wilson and I did the riding. David took 5th in Singlespeed category, Dave outperformed with a sub 5 hour time of 4:50 something. My hopes of a sub 6 hour time were narrowly dashed by a flat tire and some (manageable) cramps. I came in at 6:09. I'm sure I can better that with more carbs, some changes to the bike and some tire luck next year.

Iron Cross Start?

I am confused, website say Pine Grove Furnace State Park but the map says Camp Thompson. Where is the start?

We expect racers around 11am. Our rush of racers should be between 11-1245. Please post if you plan to attend! Come support Dave, Scott, and Sue in the race! CP Location: Top of Stillhouse Hollow Road where it crosses the power line. Take Milesburn Road from 233, go past the reservoir, past Birch Run Road, and at the next fork, go left on Stillhouse Hollow and drive to the top of the mountain and the powerline.
