SLIP UP ON THE RUN UP

First... let me thank all my MBM homies for getting me out of the woods alive today. Chuck, Dona, Chris, Matt, Dan and Jody. We were hiking up the 'Iron Cross' runup & I slipped and fell, my ankle was facing south instead of north and wedged between a rock and a tree. After much screaming Jody got my foot unstuck. After coming to my senses and realizing I was not walking out, everyone scrambled to get me off the mountain. Chris & Jody pretty much carried me down toward the gate at Milesburn Road, which was a ways to go. Dona heard some enduro motorbikes below and asked Matt to try to wave them down. Matt stopped them, somebody lifted me onto the back of the motorcycle I held on,closed my eyes and was taken to Milesburn road . Dan drove me in Chuck's truck back to rt 30, Jody drove me to the hospital and stayed with me the entire time. I was released with a big plaster cast and crutches. I have 2 broken bones and torn cartilage. I will be seeing an orthopedic surgeon tomorrow. Thanks again to everyone. Dona, thanks for the t-shirt and my shoes. Needless to say... I won't be at Teaberry...

  1. Boy oh Boy Sure glad you are ok. Except for the broken bones. I told you all those cross bikes were dangerous. You have to walk to much. Well heel fast and don't be to hard on Mike. After all he is retired and needs his afternoon naps and stuff.

  2. I'm really sorry that happened today. I hope you recover quickly. Dan and I returned your SUV to Mike. He had the most concerned look on his face. He asked, "How is she?", as he started to cry. We told him that you hurt your ankle and went to the ER but he asked again. Then he saw your bike and burst out, "She's ok!"

We are all glad that the "rescue" went well. We could have been so much further away from a road.
I was relieved to hear "ankle"....after the scream and Jody yelling help... I thought "rattlesnake"
    I knew however that I couldn't hear the ever-famous
    Mark Shoap Quote......"my balls!"
Hey Witter, It think I should keep you company during the races so you won't be lonely!

  5. I saw the whole event from the slip to the bone set, and I'm telling ya Witter is tougher than Conan. What she didn't tell you is that it was hours before she got any pain meds. Now I know where Chris's man card went.

  6. Wow, guys, sorry about that. You can blame me for putting that run up in the IC course in the first place. Heal quick, Sue!

  7. Why anyone "trains" on the IC runup is totally beyond me. I have for years taken stinger and met the crazy people at the top.

Not much to be gained and certainly much to the lost.

Spidey - you heal up quickly we need you for some snow riding.

PS Ten-Fidy is a great painkiller.

  8. Darius your compassion is amazing. You should really be working for Hallmark writing sympathy cards for death row inmates.
