Race Across the Sky Thursday

Race Across the Sky is screening at the Regal theatre in Harrisburg off I-81 on Thursday. We're planning to go. Should be a great time! Anyone else interested?

For those that don't know, it's the movie about the Leadville 100 and the race between Lance and Dave Wiens this year.

  5. Great movie, but I don't get the race--It is all double track, fire road and paved road! We'd complain about a course like that. I think they should move the race to Michaux. Probably won't happen though, Lance was complaining about race courses with roots, rocks, etc.

I did learn that if you want to be at the front of the race, you need a carbon trek with a custom cut seat mast.

The DC theater was close to sold out. This was probably the fittest audience to grace that theater. I think most people were inspired to begin training for next year's race.

When the movie comes out on DVD, I highly recommend it.

Damn you reality! You, with your soccer practices, sick kids, work, broken cars. Damn you!

  8. Buy the DVD online for $20, you didn't miss anything seeing it on the big screen. Bring those boys to Michaux! I laughed at how the 7 lead guys were "smart enough to find a dry place to cross the creek." LOL! It was like 6" of water! I can only imagine what they would have done if there was a log crossing on course.
That much climbing at that elevation must suck though. The beginning of the movie said you should give your body 3 WEEKS to adjust to the elevation change before racing.
