Here is a proper track in knee deep powder. After I broke two miles of trail, I encountered another skier coming in the opposite direction. He was walking because his skinny track skis did not float in the powder. When walking the snow was actually waist deep. This was at Laurel Ridge. We were happy to meet because it meant neither of us had to break track any longer.
That is some insanely deep snow Crash! Did you drive all that way from Bethesda for a solo ski??

skiing in that is more like walking than skiing.
