Anyone for Go-Karting

My other hobby is go-karting which also scratches that "need for speed" itch many of us have. I've mentioned this to some of you. Anyone interested in heading to Allsports GP on March 17th for some go-karting? These are high speed european-style go karts not those slow karts at the miniature golf place. Allsports GP is in Sterling, VA near Dulles Airport. About 90 minute drive.

  1. spouses, friends, anyone welcome, we can reserve the place for just us if we get enough interest. This will cost about $50-$60 per person depending on how we decide to race.

  3. Allsports requires a drivers license or kids to participate in a weekend course to be able to race. (expensive) A different track, Mid-Atlantic in Newcastle, DE will let kids run in their own group or even with adults if everyone racing is from one party. That is much further away but we could plan a trip there with kids. Sunday nights are dead there so you can usually show up and all race together then.

  4. So, yes, my boys do race these karts but not at Allsports due to their requirements.

  5. My boys wouldn't even fit in one of those little cars.
I'd probably have to leave one in the pits.
I'd probably leave behind the non-Dom.
I'd hate to have to drive with only one, but would choose to drive with the Dom if there's not enough room for both.

  7. I'd love to go but Joel and I need to get the race car tech inspected that day. BTW, Summit Point has some really fast go karts too!
