sick day?

Would there be any interest from anyone to call into work sick and go riding for a day sometime in the next 2 or 3 weeks. Maybe Raystown for a day trip or any place someone would recomend.

A few surprises today

Went out and rode the Maximus 10 mile loop today, it was surprisingly dry, probably the driest I have ever seen it.  There's some really good single track out there that needs ridden, but I suggest we do some clean up first. I'd say there's at least 30 large trees across the trails from the october snow storm that will need cut out, and numerous small ones too.  Anyone have some time weekday mornings to assist in some cleanup?

Ok here we go. Sunday we will meet at the Mash starting point. Junction of Ridge and Means Hollow Roads (and Canada Hollow and the AT). I know the trails but not sure how we should loop them. Oh yea there will be climbing involved. Ride time 9am

Tuesday night ride

Going to ride from Teaberry Lot Tuesday evening. 5:30 start on the beginner race loop. There is a chance of rain so post here if you intend to ride and check back late afternoon if we get precip to make sure you don't show up alone.

The Casual Trails

something I made a few years ago for personal use (LC)

The bike trails near Caledonia State Park have been cleaned and marked. (by DCNR)

These trails are mostly smooth with some climbing and roots. They are very well groomed and ideal if you are just starting out or want to ride something casual. The map in the side bar at the right has been updated and the link now allows you to view and print the map.

I will be posting intermediate group rides which include these trails and others this spring. These will be Saturday morning or Friday evening rides weather permitting. Frequency will depend on attendance. This is a great way to get in shape for the more difficult trails Michaux has to offer.

To access these trails go south from Rt 30 on Rt 233. Take the first left toward Totem Pole and then the next right. Stay on the paved road and go all the way to the end which is the parking area.

These trails form a large loop. Do not cross water and do not divert onto any forest roads (double track) and you shouldn't get lost. Watch for hikers. Remember to always wear a helmet and carry plenty of water. Have fun!

Tuesday night ride

Just a shout out to anyone that wants to ride on Tuesday evening. I'm a definite as I went to the bike swap Sunday and I'll miss Thursday due to work. Don't want to turn into a marshmallow!

Sunday Norchaux Ride with MORE

Hey, All,

There is going to be a MORE contingent descending upon Laurel Lake on Sunday for a ride. Donna and I are going to join in the fun. There will probably be two groups at slightly different speeds and probably slightly different routes. Just confirmed meet time is around 9:30 but I will update here if that changes.
