Does anybody have an opinion on the newer 31.8 diameter bar/stem combo's?
Is there any advantage in stiffness or weight? From what I have seen this combo is generally heavier.
Any thoughts on the Pro's and Con's?

The larger diameter offers a good bit more rigidity. One of the things I like about it is that the stems can now be used on either a road or mountain bike if you want to experiment with your position.
