Cracked up at Long Pine
Thanks Brett for leading out a large group in Long Pine today. I enjoyed the first 5 miles of riding much more than the 5 mile nature walk back to the parking lot. While my HiFi 29er was in the shop waiting for a replacement seat stay the chain stay on my back up 26 inch HiFi broke and disabled the bike. That makes 3 frame breaks in one year on two HiFi's. The best performance upgrade for this bike may be good walking shoes. Hope all had a great ride. Looks like I will be spectating and not racing next weekend.
Tuesday Night Back O' The Pack Ride
Brad Wertz and I will be riding Tuesday evening starting at 4:30 from the Mont Alto lot. We want to work on our fitness so we can close that gap to the main group a little further. Anyone is welcome. Any suggestions for a climbing intensive route also appreciated.

Cburg Pump Track
Hey MBMers!! How about a Monday Funday at the Chambersburg Pump Track? I haven't seen you all in a while and I'll be able to make the long trek down your way this coming Monday. I think it's about time I check out what this pump track is all about. I hope to be there around 530. So far Bucsexie and Clown Bike are in. I'll see if I can bring any one else from the 'north' along with me. Ice cream and beer floats afterwards?!?!?!

RAAM
Anybody following the RAAM? The riders will be passing through the timing station in Rouzerville, PA beginning on or about this Thursday June 25th thru Sunday June 28th. Mike and I are planning to go to the Rouzerville station located at Blondies Bar & Restaurant on Friday eve to hang out, watch some riders come thru and get some food & drink at Blondies. Around 6:00 PM or so. The more the merrier... meet us there if you're interested.

Jersey Order
I'll be collecting money for a jersey order. If you'd like an MBM jersey email me at prophet2@me.com. We need to order at least 5 jerseys to avoid a processing fee. Cost will be $62 each.
The club still has jerseys in the following sizes and quantities:
XXXL - 1
XL - 1
Large - 3
Medium - 1
These run very small. At 5' 11" and 200 lbs I usually wear a Men's Large and need a XXL so you will probably need to order 2 sizes larger than you usually would.

Beginner Ride Leader
I will be happy to lead beginner rides on the Thursday night ride on the spur of the moment or pre-scheduled. If there is anyone lurking on the MBM blog who feels too intimidated to come out for a group ride for any reason just email me at prophet2@me.com. We'll take it easy, have some fun and get you introduced to Michaux State Forest.

BB w/ MBM-SSO-CSFFD
Fun, sunny, and dry times this past weekend at Big Bear. The MBM team (Multiple Organisms) shared a large party with the Single Speed Outlaw teams and the Cycle Sports Fast Forward Development teams.
Our secret weapon, Trish spun the 6th fastest women's lap in our class. Josh the 5th fastest men's and pulled 3 fast, tight laps for us. Thanks to Jody for organizing and getting us MBM'ers out of the local rocks for some different kind of fun trails. Everyone pulled strong laps, and I think we only had one flat among us all. We ended up 3rd in the 5-Open class. Jody pulled the last lap and made sure we kept 3rd place, by 1-minute.
Wiser Weiser's team won the Women's Sport, and Brett's team (Kory, Uncle Don, Brian) won the Vets with Brian Fisher getting the fastest 3 laps in the class. All four of them had laps in the top-10 of their class, and they had 7 of those 10!
Paul kept the machines rolling, and his helpers kept the party rolling As often happens, I think Paul worked harder than any of us, keeping at least 3 team's fleets rolling smooth, and shoveling up after his helpers. And thanks to Zach for keeping our muscles working.

Copper Head?
While enjoying our ride from Caledonia today I nearly ran over a copper colored snake on a stretch of double track. I circled back for a look and Sue declared it dead and decapitated. Dale "the snake handler" then proceeded to check its status by picking it up by the tail. The snake prooved to be very undead and indeed had a head (mouth wide open, fangs etc.). It seems the snake was injured, probably bitten in the head by some other animal, no I did not witness Dale bite the snake. We gently moved him off the road so he does not get tangled in the next riders spokes. I presume this snake is a copper head, if anyone knows better please post.

Massanutten Hoo Ha
Some MBMers and other local riders went down to Massanutten on Sunday to do the Hoo Ha. It was hot and there was a lot of climbing. I DNFed, Trish was 3rd, Zach Adams was 5th, Martin Kell was 9th and Harlen was somewhere on the podium. I think I saw Travis walking around after the race. Please post your results if I missed anyone.
Joel went up to Danville to do the Tour de Tykes. He finished 2nd!

lone ride
Tried to meet up with the group today. I took the high road (powerline) and they took the low road. Some split to Mackey and the other group the traditional ride. I raced to catch the rocky ridge group not knowing I was already ahead since they took the long double track in stead of the powerline. Flated from a side wall tear on the stooges and luckily Pete and Rich from Gettysburg were coming the other way to save my ride and loan me CO2 because my Big Air was anything but. While changing my tire I looked up and less than 5 feet away is a big bird staring right at me as if to say need a hand. It did not have air so I sent him on his way. I think he is a herron? Or perhaps a skinny blue Turkey, who knows, friendly creature anyhow. Hope all had a great ride today.

RIDE
I want to thank the Weiser's for a great job on the tour De cure ride last Sunday. Had a good time and got to meet some new people. This Sunday will be at Old Forge. We are going to do the classic ride so no Mackey for those faint at heart. From what I hear there will be a famous or a legend of MBM at the ride this Sunday so be there and see him for yourself. As always ride time 9am
