Did you do your part?????
IMBA is working to seize an important opportunity to increase bicycling in National Parks and we need your help!
Your Annual Fund donation could truly be the difference between business as usual, or a monumental accomplishment for mountain biking enthusiasts.
The U.S. National Park Service (NPS) has proposed a rule change which will make it easier for parks to open trails for mountain bikers. We are now in a 60-day commentary period and must be successful on all fronts to make the change official. Right now, donations from mountain bikers like you are critical in supporting our advocacy team's efforts, which is striving to:
- Register 20,000 public comments supporting the rule change
- Attend meetings across the country with key stakeholders
- Continue reaching out to trail user groups to discuss the improvements the rule change will bring to National Parks
Please take a moment to support possible riding opportunities in National Parks!
IMBA's Annual Fund allows us to direct critical resources to programs and advocacy work when they are most needed. Our advocacy team needs these resources -- and your gift can help more than ever before.
Please do your part for possible trail opportunities in National Parks by giving to the Annual Fund today.
Your support will truly go a long way for mountain biking in 2009. We hope you'll join us in getting off to an amazing start: trail opportunities in National Parks will give mountain bikers everywhere an exhilarating new momentum.
Most importantly, IMBA can bolster the presence of our volunteer network and our professional trailbuilding staff in National Parks, translating into much needed care for our nation's most prized natural environments.
Best Wishes and Happy New Year!
Mike Van Abel
Executive Director
International Mountain Bicycling Association
P.S. Your support does make a difference and is tax deductible. Please donate today to IMBA’s Annual Fund and help build the trails of tomorrow.
P.P.S. Contributors of $35 or more will receive our full-color 2009 calendar -- a great way to stay inspired all year.
Tuesday Night Self Esteem Ride
I'll have a spare set of lights that goes to the first person to request them. DirtyGirlMaggot???
Not cool enough to ride with our group? Well, there's the Tuesday morning ride at 8:30am with the lame group down at the Shed. Not sure who will be there. Maybe Buck, Tex, Chief (aka Mr. 20%), T, CrashedAgainAndAgainAndAgainAnd... Should be a fun ride anyway.

By the way, if the Saturday ride happens, this does not cancel the Sunday ride. Only Chief has the authority to make a decision of such magnitude.

COLD ride today
Chuck, Dale, Dave W. and I braved the cold and windy conditions for about 2.5 hours. Who knows if there were gut piles today, they were all frozen and covered in snow so they looked just like rocks!
"Tough as nails" Sue and Mike "air-conditioned tights" Witter stopped by with a delicious plate full of cookies on their way to Caledonia to crush the fire roads in the chilly weather. Way to go Sue! Glad to see you back on your bike.
Did anyone else brave the weather today to get in a ride? Let's hear about it.
