Latest story on the push for Sunday hunting:
http://www.pennlive.com/midstate/index.ssf/2011/07/legalization_of_sunday_hunting.html
The voices opposing this need to be heard. It's telling that the article only refers to "hikers and bird-watchers" as other user groups joining the side against Sunday hunting. No mention of mountain bikers or equestrians.
The pro-Sunday hunting advocates are pushing the economic benefits, but do they mention how much money will be lost through other users staying home, out of state tourists not coming in duringthe fall and leaf-peeping seasons? What negative impact might that have?
Evans, the sponsor of the bill, says that he was "presented with the facts" but by whom? The groups pushing for Sunday hunting. Those "facts" are slanted to achieve the desired ends. What are all the facts?

Todd Rock said, "about 70 percent of his constituents are against the bill" and then goes on to say "this is not an easy vote." Either he's really bad at math or somebody needs to explain what being a REPRESNTATIVE means to this dillhole. This is why most people don't vote. These elected idiots don't represent the people. They represent the money that's going to get them re-elected.
I sent an e-mail to Evans - whatever good that'll do. It's not a big deal though, we just need to buy some new accessories:

representatives mostly represent special interests who claim to represent the people but really represent industry and coporate interests that use special interests as fronts to look like they are people. get all that? my tinfoil hat told me so.
On a side note the sponsor of this bill, John Evans, is an absolute sleazeball. Prior to his political career he was a news commentator in Erie PA.
During this time(1998) a local school district(General Mclane) had an incident at a middle school dance where a student shoot and killed a teacher(John Gillette). The district banned all reporters from the school. Mr Evans happened to have children at this school. He told the secretaries at the school that he needed to see his children. He then proceeded to attempt to interview random kids. He was promptly thrown out.
Sorry for the tangential rant but this guy really pisses me off...
A loose coalition has come together to oppose the expansion of Sunday hunting in Pennsylvania. As Pennsylvania State Director for the Humane Society of the United States I recently testified before the House Game and Fisheries Committee and Chairmans Evan and Staback on behalf of the more than 650,000 HSUS members and supporters in PA, many of whom are bikers, jokers, and wildlife watchers. We would enthusiastically welcome your input and support in efforts to block the passage of HB 1760 and any other bill to make Pennsylvania's natural spaces unsafe for all to enjoy.

....and I am a joker!
Who happens to be a biker against Sunday Hunting.
I doubt that's a legitimate blog post. The profile only has 2 hits??
I think Ms. Speed's is a legit post, and she probably created a Google account just to post here. She wrote an editorial in the Public Opinion a few days ago about this too.
Just got a phone call from a guy from Keystone Country magazine. He wanted some thoughts on how MBM feel about Sunday hunting.
He may be at the Mont Alto ride start Thursday to get some photos and more content for his article.
Hopefully some of you will be there..
