Sunday Race Pre-ride

Gettysburg Bicycle is running a Curse of Dark Hollow pre-ride this Sunday at 9:00am. Presumably at big flat though the email didn't actually specify the start location.

The Gettysburg's pre ride will be the ride location for this Sundays ride. The pace is usually brisk. Good time to learn the course. The more you ride it the better you'll be on race day. Big Flat will be the meeting location.

Hi everyone, I live in Carlisle.
I'm very new to this and I would like to get involved. I hope to be there at Big Flat this Sunday. I'm not in any shape for 20 miles yet but I would like to meet people.

I think it's easier to mountain bike than learning this blogging

saw a big rattlesnake on Milesburn during the pre-ride today and another on Shippensburg Road heading down to 233.

I saw another after our flats, just before we hit Fegley. It too was big, and I startled both of us. Heard the rattle as I approached and thought the hiss was another flat.

I enjoyed the IMBAvacation of the race course this year. No crazy downhills, or hike a bike uphills to turn away new riders.

I don't know about that DAH....
There's only a couple miles of new trail, and there's more than enough hike-a-bike in the 20 & 40 (Wigwam and Scientology), plus the uber-sketch powerline descent near the end.

For record (for others, as I know you were there), IMBA had nothing to do with the new trail. It was all MBM and one mystical Michaux benefactor.

That's true, I just did the 10 - not the big boy 20. It's just that Wildcat reminds me of Allegrippis.

If I can do it anyone can. How did you do with the ride?? We had some first timers on our nice trails Sunday! Keep coming back. It does get a little easier.
