Sunday Ride Report
The brave and intrepid set out through the crunchy snow for the weekly ride. We used the fire roads to gain altitude and then rode down the trails. Down 6, down lollipop, down Yellow and up the roads in between. The snow definitely made for some interesting downhilling. I was fortunate to get out front coming down lollipop and it was a lot like skiing in fresh powder.
Afterward we celebrated Mike D's birthday with his very own birthday brews. Too bad Mike wasn't there! Happy Birthday Mike! Sorry if the case Brad shows up with is a little short!

Sunday Service
"For I hail Draco, king of dragon men."
Good morning fellow single speeders, Sunday service is now in session. Reverend Mooch presiding.
It is not the number of worshippers in our church that matters, it is the quality of the single track upon which we roll that defines our character.
For it is here, amongst the pines and atop the protruding hoarfrost that we seek solace from the daily grind and find the true meaning of happiness.
It is upon these mountaintops that we proclaim our freedom and shout upon high, 'For I hail Draco, KING of dragon men!"
As we close our service for the day - one last ritual upon which we partake. Now go forth, and share the good word brothers and sisters.

Conservation Volunteers
Last time I talked with DCNR in Fall, they wanted all trailworkers to sign up as Conservation Volunteers. Helps them, and helps us get counted in their statewide database. The club is signed up as an organization, and many members are as individuals.

Anyone have the trail tools or are they all at the pump track??
Bring a rake or hand saw!
Let me know if you can make it! THANKS!

Ride Repor
Had a nice group of 11 this am with a kinda-cold start. Headed up Secret and everybody warmed-up quickly. Lost a few on Secret (80-20, ya know?) - hope you guys are still alive and reading this . . .
We then ventured onto Heaven or Hell - The trail was easy to follow, and some typical HorH hilarity ensued (Travis rode down the face and then Peetied through the leaves).
Down Park Trail and across behind the college we went with plans for some backwards asscrack (trail) . . .
By then we were 5 strong with some hurtin company, so we skipped it and went up lost creek and back down Secret - with a little bypass for Ho to acquaint his whole right side with sharp rocks.
All said we were around 20 miles on a beautiful day in the woods!

1/7/12 Saturday afternoon ride
The weather isn't looking too promising for sundays ride but saturday is a different story. It's supposed to be 50 degrees out! I plan on riding from the parking lot at Long Pine reservoir on milesburn road at 1pm, thinking about hitting yellow ridge, quarry gap, blue, breast, the bottom of abby, connecter, the old reservoir trail and climbing back up milesburn to the parking lot. Anyone who's interested in riding is welcome to join me, just post up a comment so I know who's all coming.

ANOTHER New Years Day ride
For those of us that couldn't drag our sorry arses out of bed early enough to start at 9 due to the liquour and whores...
ANOTHER ride was enjoyed a wee bit later in Norchaux. Funny thing is we rode some of the same trails as the earlier ride (and now I know why I saw so many fresh bike tire tracks!) - but added in a bit of Seven and the rockalicous 'happy hour' to our loop.
Got rained on a bit right at the end of the ride, but enjoyed hot chowder, cold beer and summer sausage under a stand of hemlocks anyway afterwards.
Couldn't ask for a better January 1st in Michaux! Unless you're a skier....

New Years day ride
Our fearless chief must have been hung over from too much liquor and whores and never showed up this morning, so after the 9 of us that showed up this morning rode in circles in the parking lot for 20 minutes trying to come up with a plan we finally headed out and hit 3 mile trail, jakes, tumbling run, deer bingo, rattlesnake ridge, corkscrew, stairway to heaven, creek, and few other trails. I think everyone that showed had a pretty good time on what was pretty nice day for January 1st. The ride concluded with cold beer, and deer bologna, what a great way to start off a new year! Thanks for everyone who showed up to kickoff another year of great MBM sunday rides.
