ya know, it was a real b!tch to plan this ride and then not even be able to do it. stupid sickness. it was cool to see so many people show up . . . and NO ONE said anything negative about the course. should be a good race in a couple weeks.
My garmin showed 6,182 ft of total ascent on Saturday. That's waaaay off from the 1000 ft of climbing per lap the course profile shows. Is my garmin screwed up or did Brett blind side us with pain ;-) Either way the course was great. I had a lot of fun....even on Canada Hollow.
Your Garmin was also measuring the climb up from Long Pine Res. So it's off. The climbing on the race course itself is about 1100' a lap. Actually, your Garmin is grotesquely off. I have no idea how it came up with that number. That's over half of the climbing of the entire 62-mile Iron Cross course!
My Garmin = crap...apparently. Maybe it was measuring the climbing based how I felt instead of ft. Either way, thanks to you, Donna, and Zach for Saturday.

climbing up Long Pine isn't 5000 ft of gain. Check the Garmin site for a hardware update.
Tks Darius...will do. Canada Hollow feels like 5000' of climbing. Hail to all those who rocked that out on a SS!!!
I 'walked that out' on a SS :)
