snakes

Coming down yellow ridge thursday I ran into one biggest rattle snakes I've seen in years. I was about half way down in the flat fast section. He was laying right on the trail ready to strike. I had to lift my leg so he wouldn't bit me. So be aware when riding. I took some pics. of him on my phone but I could'nt down load them to my computor.

Beautiful creatures! I hope that we see more of them being their population has dropped so low, even though that means there will be a greater chance of getting bit by one. Unfortunately, the majority of people that even know they are protected and care are ones that would never needlessly kill them anyway. Ignorant people that kill them on sight are going to continue to do so, regardless of laws or protection.

Another timber rattler today in Norchaux. Hopefully we'll get the pic posted. Fat and healthy looking.
