This is now ready for prime time. A few of us (here, and not so here) have been working behind the scenes for a while on this. DCNR want to close down Wildcat. We suggested a full re-route on top of the ridge to the high junction on Abby.
Purple line = the new trail
orange arrows are the usual race start
Purple line is where we will all need to "put up" with tools.
I think this will happen this season. Possibly real soon.
Is anyone interested in helping?

Is this an MBM or DCNR headed project?
If interested who and how do they contact?
That section of wild cat has been a problem where bandages don't fix "have tried in the past".
It's a joint effort, with MBM, DCNR, Gettysburg Bicycle, *and*, if I learned anything that past few days, it will include trail runners, horsers, hikers etc.
All new trails will be Multi-Use, just like the red-blazed Flat Rock network. This will be an addition to the red-blazed network.
Interested helpers can contact DCNR or look here. Workdays will be posted here.
Lars, did you notice the new waterbars at the top of Wildcat the other week? curious who might of done the work if this is targeted of 'closure.'
I'm in! Winter is the best time to be doing that sort of thing. Less busy schedules, easier to stay warm, less bees and snakes to bite and sting my ass. However, if it happens anytime, I will be there.
A horse group did those waterbars, and then reported the hours/location to Levi. He then had to tell them....
I'm in too! As long as I'm in town.
As much time as I can offer I will.
They (or their GIS data) call many trails Wildcat, South Wildcat etc. We know it as the doubletrack drop to the bottom and the gravel road. Older maps may have it even more ways. The down is the part they want closed.
If there are rocks up there I'm in for laying out the line and some quality stonework.
I'm in
Yes.
Let's flag it and ride it in...3 hours of work tops ! Trim the face-slappers if your feeling industious.
...I kid.....
Will help.
You know we're in and will bring tools.
