Read and Please vote!

I don't know about everyone else but this Anonymous said stuff is Shit. If you want to say something you should put your name on it! Don't be a little bitch! I can set the blog so only members of the blog can post and comment.

Should I restrict or not?

PLEASE vote and majority will win!

I can't help it if my name is 'Anonymous'.

Good one Anonymous but "buh bye"

One vote for turning off Anonymous posts, Buck.

Disable anymouse. You can disable Mooch while you're at it. Hmmm...wait. Better keep him. We need someone to make fun of. Besides, he's our bacon expert.

I don't think its a good idea. There are times people from other areas post comments to let us know they want to attend rides.

I'm going to vote NO. If someone posts stuff trying to stir people up just move on. Do not acknowledge these comments and they'll eventually go find another blog.

What if I showed a picture of my underwear? Would I be able to post Anonymously?

- Underwear Poster.

No, seriously... I'll do w/e you want so I can keep posting Anonymously... I have this cat that likes to shake her butt... take her home for a day and I wont charge. :o

I ride the Michaux forest roads alone... I'm just an innocent poster! *cry*

Slowride: Why does anyone need to tell us they are riding? The ride locations and times are always posted. Can't they just show up? The club is supported by dues paying members and sponsors. Why would we want to post these rants on our front porch? Anyone can participate in club activities, but they should be dues paying club members to post AND comment. HEY BUCKY, 2 more votes from us to disable anonymous comments.

Majority rules.
You won't hurt my feelings.

The fact is anon does not really exist. The admins know the IP's, the location of the IP's and even if those IP's match members with google accounts.

Regardless, its a vote. Do four yea's represent a club with 5 times as many members? If so then shut it down.

Will people with google accounts that are not members still be able to post? Just wondering.

So long anon.

I think the anonymous posts are maybe just a little gutless, if anything. But, that's what the internet is good for.

I actually like hearing some of these anonymous comments. Many of them seem like pieces of shit to stir up some of our infamous tickle fights, and some offer thoughts that are good to hear. It's especially good to hear thoughts re: trailwork, and as even the anonymice must know, the annual club meeting is coming up, so it's good to hear what people think right now. Would be even better if people would contribute to making the club the way they want the club. Any club tries to represent the views of it's members. Non-members are on their own.

Even if we flip the blog switch to No Anonymous comments, anyone can still make up a google/blogger username, and can still comment. Admins don't see the IPs that I know of.

So, my vote is "no", and let's hear some words from the anony community.

We can close it to only blog members to posts and post comments.

I agree with Larry

People pay money for public opinion poles.
If you want a BLOG you will get blog comments hands down. If you skin is not thick enough to take criticism set up and pay for real web site with your club dues.

Don’t get ticked off playing by the rules you set up!

Oh by the way, the profanity is not very becoming for a stand up MBMer.(that's constructive criticism buck)

Its your blog let you club vote!

In the long-time mtn bike club MORE, there are approx. 400-500 paying current members at any time, and over 12,000 unique forum users on their website.

I say let them post. It's the way of the interwebz. I post some dumb stuff and I don't feel too guilty about it. It's not like our stock price is gonna go down or anything! :)

I have seen several good comments over the years where people are visiting the area and looking for info.

If you disable me I will just mooch off someone elses account - this is the way of the mooch!!

Leave it wide open...

It invites candid opinion plus some good humor sometimes.

bravowhiskey said...

I'm going to take a very Liberal stance on this serious matter ...Close it!, no Open it!, no close it, open it....wait, what were we voting on again?

Anonymous said...

Seems clear that many current/paying members want no more anonymous posts. Votes on this from anonymous posters are kind of humorous, don't you think?

Why not take a vote of the paid members who show up at the meeting?

Hey, not to change the topic - but is there a 'Ride' Tuesday?

pabiker said...

No, for turning them off. This is an internet bike club blog - let's not take it too seriously folks.

You can't legistlate civility.

I say let the anonymous people have their voice. and don't always listen to what they say. sometimes they have good ideas and others not so much so take the good and leave the rest.

and why are we all on the blog anyways? we should be riding it's warm out. lol

I just wish people who talk any smack would put there name up. I can see this is just getting stupid. Seems like the voting is going for letting Anonymous post. Didn't mean to stir the pot. Just wanted some opinions. Lets just keep the trails clean and ride! We can hug it out later! :-)

The meeting is coming up so this would be a good time to show up and let your voice be heard. And pay your dues. And don't forget this Sunday will be another work day. After this Sunday we will be riding instead of clearing trails. Hope to see you all at the meeting!!!!

i concur with chief.

Is that the old: "let's vote", don't like the results so: "let's vote again?"

Kinda lame.
